  • For relaxation: The sitting room-cum-dining room and library is a fantastic 34 ft long room with windows and French doors out onto the sea view terrace. Original open fireplce.. The detached vine room – a large Victorian conservatory with grape vines and a nectarine tree is a great place to relax, French doors onto a terrace with outside table to seat 14.

Outside

From the ‘secret’ garden – a secluded, pretty and level garden surrounded by shrubs and flowers, ideal for hiding away with a book to the great views that are to be enjoyed from the front terrace - perfect for a BBQ. There's also a raised decked area with rustic bench style seating, small lawn and a children's playhouse. The back garden, with large sloping /terraced area (children to be supervised) backs with direct access onto the South West Coastal path and to the secret beaches at the back of the house. There's ample parking for three cars.

Food and Wine

  • DIY: Taken on a self-catered basis, get creative in the generous kitchen complete with AGA. French doors lead out to the kitchen terrace, where a plethora of fresh herbs can be found, a great spot for al fresco dining.
  • In-house cuisine: If you don't want to cook, choose from homecooked delicacies for you to heat yourself, or in-house catering. Think freshly caught local lobster, homemade beef Wellington, delicious cakes and roulades - delicious.
  • Eating out: From beach bars to coffee shops, you’re spoilt for choice in the local area. No 11 The Quay - Damien Hirst's highly acclaimed restaurant overlooks Ilfracombe Harbour. Worth a visit for the wonderful building and artwork alone and just a 15 min walk from the house and great for evening tapas.
